January 2013 Meeting at the Library

January is here! Junior Amerian Citzens will be meeting at the Oconee County Library in Watkinsville, Ga January 30, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. The meeting is open to K-12 and will focus on 2 famous black Americans, Condoleezza Rice and Booker T. Washington.
The group will be presenting the Children's department with some special contributions. JAC will also be making a display for February Black History month, in the children's area.
We'll have a viewing of an episode of 'Liberty Kids' starting at 3:30. Come on Out!

Calling All Junior American Citizens!

School is just around the corner! And Junior American Citizens Watkinsville is about to have our first meeting.
 We will be meeting at the Oconee County Public Library in the Meeting Room on August 27, Monday, at 4:00 p.m.
Kids from Kindergarten to age 18 are welcome. We will be learning about local & national history & planning our future activities. Don't miss out!
Do you know the Preamble to the Constitution? Just like Uncle Sam--- WE NEED YOU!
Come find out what George Washington's Favorite Snack was? Can you guess?
Our meeting will last about an hour, so don't miss out! See you there!!

Happy Fourth of July!!


Junior American Citizens of Watkinsville will be walking in the Oconee County Parade at Oconee Vetrans Park. This is the first year for our parade at the park as well as the amazing fireworks. We are so excited as this will be the first event as a newly formed chapter under the Reverend John Andrews DAR. Look for the kids, parents & DAR to bring celebration to the parade!
